Hello people,

I wish to make it clear (if it is not already through my blog), that I am in no way saying we are inferior. Just that a little more thoughfulness would go a long way. To begin with, let us as individuals be aware we dont make these same mistakes that we accuse our fellow countrymen of :)

Cleanliness and child labour are the two most intractable diseases.Education and economic growth is evidently not a panacea. No amount of education has really changed the way we nonchalantly throw a used ticket or chocolate wrapper almost anywhere except into a dustbin.
All countries have their unique culture and heritage. In fact they are doing a better job of preserving and reaping benefits out of it.

hi..
yeah a hard hitting blog.. whatever you said is absolutely true.. and to add a few to it..
garbage disposal: we still are yet to catch up with the habit of using the bins for waste disposal.. (some1 said the entire world is ours but still there are better ways to prove it than throwin rubbish where ever we like..).It is sad to note that even educated people do this..

courtesy: even simple acts can prove to be decisive.. like saying a thank you to the waiter who serves you at a restaurant(most of us dismiss it off saying it is his duty..and it is odd when the waiter who is about 50 years serves a 20 year old).though these are trivial, i have tried this out and people are pleased when we show some cordiality even for such small things..

Bus:It is really sad to see a poor 60 year old struggling to hold his balance during the rickety ride where as youngsters(sorry to say .. esp the love birds) have their own sweet time nicely seated( forget the quality of mtc bus seats..!).. We are fit enough compared to the elders and the world wont come crashing down if we offer our seats to the aged ones..again it is just a question of someone puttin up his hand to set an example.. it happened once when me n my friend vacated our seats for an aged couple and it was heartening to see atleast ten others following us..!So please dont wait for others.. stand up and be counted..!

How I wish people realized this! It's sad that most people would care lesser if they read such things. At least I wont. I am glad at least you wrote about these. Indians will take a long time to realize this unless someone points out to them. Even then the majority will take offence rather than thinking about the problem and doing something about it.
Very relevant entry dear...write more and I want more noisy Indians to read these and turn over a new leaf.
